california here we come
I'm beyond excited to go to California with Bethany today. I've never been west of Houston, and have been dying to see the Pacific Ocean. Btw, this song is a little cheesy, but definitely is getting me in the mood. It has been an all-california themed songs listening morning while I'm packing.
We're planning to hit all the traditional tourist stuff: Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Lombard Street, Chinatown, redwood trees, cable cars and all that fun stuff. Heck we might even eat rice-a-roni, and decide to leave our hearts there.
The key reason for this little jaunt to the left coast is the Nike Marathon where all finishers receive a silver Tiffany necklace. :) See www.nike.com/nikemarathon to track my progress.
I'm sure I'll post photos upon my return. Wish us luck.

Guns N' Roses Ft. Sir Elton John Playing November Rain
chinese democracy is going to win out. in the mean time, enjoy one of my favorite songs, with one of my favorite guest stars. the piano gives me the chills.
Rilo Kiley - Silver Lining
I'd been meaning to post this since I bought Under the Blacklight. The entire cd is awesome with the Moneymaker, Silver Lining, and Breaking Up being personal stand outs. I'm currently addicted to Silver Lining, in part due to the infectious music, but her totally honest lyrics are catchy too. This is a good one to sing along in the car. Also check out Rilo's less known cds. I'm sure you know a Rilo song without even knowing it, since several have appeared on soundtracks.
......but now I'm gold....

Ingrid Michaelson on Carson Daly -
I really hate when commercials, or other lame manifestations of capitalism introduce me to things I ultimately end up liking...so I'll pretend Ingrid Michaelson's cute song wasn't on stupid GA, or used as an Old Navy commercial. She gives me a cute Lisa Loeb feeling. I admit that I might be enamored with this song because of the timing...i.e. had it come out several months ago, I would have dismissed it as romantic drivel. It suits my mood for now. Thoughts?
